Friday, December 1:

  • Storytime at the Children's Discovery Museum

    Enjoy stories, songs and action games with Normal Public Library Children's Staff! This activity will be held on the 3rd floor of the Children's Discovery Museum as part of their "Free Floor Programming" (free with paid admission). The Children's Discovery Museum is located at 101 E. Beaufort Street in Normal. Story Hour is 10:00 - 10:30 a.m.

  • Partners in Reading Ends

    "Bite into a Juicy Book!", our fall session of Partners in Reading, is ending. Registration for the spring session, will begin Monday, January 2nd for college students and kids. Partners will begin meetings the week of January 29th.

Saturday, December 9:

  • Marble Painted Ornaments or Cards

    Drop by the Discovery Room any time between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to make your own Marble Painted Ornaments or Cards.

This activity is suitable for grade school children (1st - 6th grade) accompanied by an assisting adult. There will be a simpler coloring craft for younger children.

Each child must bring a can of white shaving cream (the less expensive products work great!) in order to make the marbled paper crafts.

If you arrive for this activity at a busy time you will be given a number and you may have to wait a while for your turn since only a limited number of children can make the marbled paper at one time.

    Each child must be registered in the Summer Reading Program, MUST BE IN THE 4TH - 6TH GRADE GROUP, MUST HAVE COMPLETED ALL EIGHT READING LOGS, and must have his or her own ticket to attend this program.

    After hours party at the library - solve the mystery, eat dinner, watch movies, play games, create balloon animals and more!
