Divided into reading levels, books are available in the following
areas which are color coded on the floor plan.
(Yellow)
Short books that have one word to two sentences per page.
The computer abbreviation for this section is CBEG.
(Green)
Longer books that have more words per page than Beginning
to Read books, but have controlled vocabulary. The computer
abbreviation for this section is EZREAD.

(Blue)
Books that have no controlled vocabulary, but pictures dominate
the book. The computer abbreviation for this section is
PICTBK.
(Red)
Exciting or thought provoking novels that are usually not
illustrated or have only a few pictures. The computer abbreviation
for this section is JFIC.
(Purple)
Books on all reading levels that are organized by topic
and are used for research or information. The computer abbreviation
for this section is JNFIC.
(Orange)
Books that are designed to help adults who are working with
children. The computer abbreviation for this section is
PROSHF.
(Hot
Pink) The latest information to help with school reports.
The computer abbreviation for this section is JREF.
- Book-Cassette
Kits: Word for word narration of books good for children
who are learning to read or who are learning English as
a second language.
Cassette
Tapes: Music and Storytelling
Pamphlets:
Health and travel are the two main topics in the vertical
file.
Pictures:
Organized by topic, these are great for bulletin boards.
Puzzles:
Simple wood puzzles, great for hand eye coordination.
