This agency is the federal focal point for older persons and their concerns. The agency’s Web site offers senior statistics, links to aging-related Web sites, and information on topics such as elder abuse prevention.

The official Medicare site provides access to many publications on various Medicare-related topics, lists of frequently asked questions, and information on coverage, eligibility, enrollment, plan choices, and nursing homes.

Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites (VIPPS)

The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) developed the VIPPS program to address concerns about the legitimacy of pharmacies that sell prescription drugs on the Web. To be VIPPS certified, a pharmacy must comply with the licensing and inspection requirements of its state and each state to which it dispenses pharmaceuticals. In addition, pharmacies displaying the VIPPS seal have demonstrated compliance with VIPPS criteria
including patient rights to privacy, authentication and security of prescription orders, adherence to a recognized quality assurance policy, and provision of meaningful consultation between patients and pharmacists. This Web page will help you find a list of VIPPS pharmacies serving your area.
